THE DAIRY INDUSTRY IN CANADA IS CHANGING.

MISSION<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Growing concerns over animal welfare and environmental sustainability are driving demand for responsible animal production while economic pressure on producers mounts due to increasing input prices with little to no changes in output sale prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scientific evidence shows how animal welfare and cow longevity go hand in hand. The WELL-E research team will leverage artificial intelligence and internet of things (IoT) to detect changes in cow welfare to provide dairy producers with the information they need to improve and extend the lives of their livestock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operations will initially be piloted on two research farms then expand to commercial farms across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This engagement towards the longevity and welfare of cows represents a unique opportunity for the Canadian dairy industry to showcase its leadership when it comes to improving \u2014 and ensuring \u2014 its sustainability, be it economic, environmental or social.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
